School Districts Grant Access to Security Camera

In an effort to improve school security Macomb County officials are encouraging schools to allow Macomb County’s Communications and Technology Center, known as COMTEC, access to on-site school cameras. The COMTEC has a large monitor array that allows for dispatchers to monitor road and flooding conditions. Now they will also be able to access school security camera, if the school grants the county access.

Cities like Roseville and Center Line are already ahead of the game. Roseville Police Department has been monitoring the hallways for Roseville schools for nearly 10 years now. The cooperation allows police to see real-time video in the case of an emergency allowing for faster reaction times.
